Sugar is not the primary cause of Diabetes. Life style is!

Have you heard that eating too much sugar causes diabetes? The truth is that diabetes begins when our body is no longer able to effectively regulate blood sugar levels. This can happen when our body stops producing enough insulin or when our cells become resistant to insulin that is produced. Lifestyle factors which can cause diabetes include: Obesity, reduced physical activity, unhealthy diet, consumption of alcohol, smoking and stress. 

 

Owing to our hectic urban lifestyle, our dependency on outside food is on the rise. For most individuals, easy availability and affordable options make restaurant food a default choice. Junk Insta foods are very popular today and their consumption is increasing exponentially. Foods prepared in restaurants & hotels have high Salt, Sugar & Fats content making them highly unhealthy. The consumption of such foods has peaked globally. Its impact on our health is being felt and realized all over as well. 

 

Gradually & steadily, we are evolving into more conscious consumers; we tend to plan our meals to have a balanced mix of carbs, proteins, fats, fruits & veggies. Even when ordering out, there is a need & preference for home-made food. Cooked in fresh, authentic ingredients and in a healthy way, it ensures we get a healthy diet. This in turn helps keep our body's sugar levels stable.
