5 Hacks to run a profitable Home Kitchen:

We understand that running professional Home kitchens are increasingly competitive and achieving profitability can be an overwhelming goal.

The following experience and TIPS are shared by our community of Home Chefs and Foodizo has tried to compile them in a tangible fashion.

 

Build your Menu Well:

Your menu is one of your most important strategic marketing tools. Play by your strengths and create your menu accordingly. Update it time to time and according to festive times and/or seasons. If it is Diwali, add traditional Indian dishes. During Summer, try to add summary delights like Aamras, shrikhand. And during Rainy seasons, have more lighter but spicier options. 

Note: Learn to eliminate dishes which are not a big seller.

 

Get the Pricing Right: 

The price of your product is determined by the Cost of Ingredients + your efforts + operating expenses. So, while thinking of the pricing, try to put a cost in each bracket. A margin of 25-30% is a very good margin for Home kitchens as the operating cost is very minimal.

 

Buy Seasonally and Locally:

Seasonal and local ingredients are less expensive and more sustainable.

Think about adding seasonality to the menu. Offering something new for a limited period will create fresh and tempt food lovers to return.

 

Join a Supportive Platform:

Technology provides great opportunities for your professional Home kitchen to streamline its workflow and improve profit margins. It helps you minimize the everyday pressures of getting orders, managing them and getting the food delivered. It helps in reducing the chaos to a great extent in saving time, energy and labour to run a busy kitchen.

 

Get feedback from customers and ACT on it:

This is one of the most critical aspect where you get the genuine customers feedback regarding Taste, Packaging and pricing. If you see a pattern where customers really think to improve certain parameters then ACT ON IT!
